Undies

Casey has been sleeping in undies for over a week now, no more pull ups. We are on a 3 day dry streak at the moment. She is very excited about being in undies, especially since sometimes she gets a "treat" in the morning...some how she has conned her way into a treat for staying dry and we have given in because we are excited.

Casey started tumbling on Thursday. During tumbling, Garrett gets to wander the Rec center lobby hamming it up for anyone who will pay attention to him, which is pretty much everyone!  He gives the biggest smiles to everyone he sees.

Casey and I have been skiing a lot this week.  I went out with friends on Wed, Casey and I went on Friday, just the two of us; we went out with Sean, Dillon and Connor on Saturday; and Sunday we skied with Sarah and Kaelin (who is a year older than Casey).  I'm having trouble keeping up with Casey on the mountain. She is way better than me on skis.  I may have to start snowboarding to keep up with her.  I do have to remind her to do turns sometimes, but for the most part, she is under control and seems to be aware of other skiers.

Garrett is a happy boy, who doesn't eat a whole lot.  He will eat bananas, pancakes, sausage, waffles, grapes, apples, jelly sandwich, ravioli.  He is not a vege guy at the moment, though we still try. He loves to throw his food on the floor, especially the veges...more than actually eating it.  He is still trying to perfect the sippy cup, so we have had to go back to a bottle of milk in the morning and after nap because he was not getting enough milk.

Today we went for  a hike.  Casey was a trooper...she hiked 2.45 miles, half uphill. Garrett slept on the way up, but awoke to enjoy the hike down.

Back Home

We are getting back into the swing of things, even though it is freezing here.  Today at 9:30 a.m. it was -10.  Not to worry, at 10:30 it had warmed up to -5.  We have still been keeping busy.

Garrett is now saying words.  Well, mostly just "ball" but we also think he is saying "mom" and Casey swears he has said "Daddy" at least once.  But again, mostly "ball."  He walks around the house holding a ball and if he sees another one, he will point at it and say, "ball."  Today I was giving him a meatball for lunch and he said "ball" and pointed at the meatball.  It might be a bit of an obsession.

Casey loves being home and playing with all her new toys and having her new toys meet her old toys.  She has her barbie dream house set up and her old smaller dollhouse right next door and the Littlest Pet Shop house on the other side.

So what have we been doing since we got home??  Casey has been skiing and she even went through the trees off Spring Dipper at Keystone.  We have been sledding a couple times, we've been to the pool, bowling and both kids have been back to school.
